Artist's Bio

When Lynn Asher takes the stage you know you’re in for something special from the moment she launches into her first song. Known as “The Voice” among her fans and fellow musicians, Lynn’s power and versatility as an artist/entertainer is a force to be reckoned with. Her love of music from the 60's and 70's is the hallmark of her passionate performances featuring classic tunes by Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendricks, Cream, Led Zeppelin and Jefferson Starship. Lynn also delivers rich, soulful vocals from Americana roots rock artist's such as Lucinda Williams and Patty Griffin. She has also written and recorded several original songs which fit beautifully into her carefully crafted high energy sets.

 

 

She has fronted Janis Joplin’s original band, Big Brother & The Holding Company and shared the stage with a veritable who’s who of the music industry such as hit Producer and drummer, Narada Michael Walden, Bob Weir & Mickey Hart, (formerly of The Grateful Dead), Jerry Harrison of the Talking Heads, Dave Jenkins of Pablo Cruise, and Raz Kennedy of Bobby McFerrin’s Voicestra, at world class venues such as The Fillmore, The Great American Music Hall, Yoshi’s, Berkeley’s Freight & Salvage and San Francisco’s Boom Boom Room, to name just a few.
